Workshops 2019

This year we have a varied programme of workshops making indoor and outdoor items and introducing different techniques. Our workshop sizes are small to make sure everyone gets the support and attention they need in order to complete their project and of course there are always homemade cakes and biscuits to fortify you!

Dancing dragonflies spiral weaving                                                                                          
Friday 5 April or Friday 24 May 10-12.30pm

Willow woven using a spiral corn dolly weave.

Once you have mastered this traditional spiral corn dolly weave you can use willow to make a multitude of different items for the home or garden – birdfeeders, herb hangers, napkin rings, dragonflies, bees and lots more. £20

Plates and platters
Saturday 15 June 10-1pm

Trays made from willow were traditionally used for drying fruit but can be equally as useful and attractive for serving bread, biscuit or fruit. Templates using naturally occurring forks in willow and other woods will be provided for you to weave around to create a plate to grace your table. £30

Fun Fridays – skill building sessions
Friday 7, 14 and 21 June 10-1pm
£25 per session or £65 if you book all three

Join our Friday morning sessions to build you willow weaving skills.
Week 1 we will be focus on making a round basket base which can be used as a place mat or the centre or a willow flower.
Weeks 2 and 3 we will introduce different weaving techniques so that you will increase your skills.-Each session will be a stand-alone but will also build on previous sessions.

Herbs- grow them, use them and love them!
Friday 28 June 2-4pm or Saturday 29 June 10-12 noon 

Fresh herbs in a small bowl including chives, marjoram, rocket and sorrel

Are you one of the many people who have herbs growing in your garden but never use them? This workshop will give an insight into the myriad of practical uses for common and unusual herbs. Be prepared to sniff and taste and hopefully be inspired to grow and use herbs for you, and the wildlife in your garden, to enjoy.
£15 to include refreshments and herbal treats to taste
